Quail Creek Plantation
I get so excited when planning a trip to Quail Creek Plantation. It is so much fun going Sporting Clay Shooting and staying in the awesome cabins they have there. Everything about Quail Creek Plantation is amazing; the shooting, people, food, and lodging. My dog even loves going there. I have not tried hunting there, but everyone I have spoken to about it says it is a great experience and worth the money.
A typical trip to Quail Creek Plantation for me is usually two days. I drive up the night before I want to shoot and have one of their awesome steak dinners. Afterwards I like to hang out in the lodge and play darts or pool. They do not have alcohol there so you need to bring your own. I can even bring my dog to dinner if I sit in the outside area. After dinner I like to hang out in the cabin. The cabins cost between $150-$200 and sleep two adults and a child.
The next day I load up my shotgun and boxes of shells onto the golf carts and get the dog ready. Sometimes if a golf cart isn’t available you can use a device that looks like a stroller to hold all of your stuff.
There are two courses at Quail Creek Plantation: blue and red. The red course is easy and the blue is the hard course. I usually stick with red unless I am feeling pretty confident about myself. The pricing to shoot is pretty standard, and the ammo is decently priced in case you forgot some or need to purchase more. It is around $50 for a round of 100. I usually end up hitting around 250 shots after a day spent there. It is nice to break up the day with the lunch they provide at the lodge. It is usually pretty good, and the fried quail is my favorite.
